SP207 Coloured Silicon Pipe 12mm OD (2.5mm wall) £3 for 1 metre FoodSafe High Temperature Silicon Rubber Hose, in Blue, Black and Translucent. £3 per metre.P&P £2.30 This food-quality tube is both strong and flexible, so can be made to stretch over both ports of the SP14/10 pump (Translucent is probably best for this as it is more stretchy). It is also ideal for attaching to the SP20/20 pumps using the black connector nuts shown above (SP199) The Translucent tube is the home brewers favourite, also 12mm OD but has a larger internal bore of 8mm and 2mm thick walls. This has the joint benefits of reduced flow resistance and visibility to identify air bubbles or dirt. For this reason it is also our favourite for unpressurised solar circulation. It is Platinum Cured non yellowing Silicone, Cost reductions for longer lengths over 10 mtrs- please email for price. |
240V Temperature Differential Controller £98.00 STOP PRESS....NOW ALSO AVAILABLE IN 12VOLT DC VERSION NO MAINS SUPPLY NEEDED Top quality item, designed to manage the needs of all solar installations. The unit is comprised of a control box, normally located in the region of the pump or Hot Tank, and a separate display panel (shown in photo) which can be sited some distance away as required. This allows the display to be positioned in a convenient spot such as your kitchen for ready access to temperatures and status.

SP100 12V Temperature Difference Controller Circuit £42.95 12Volt Programmable controller to switch solar pump in when heat is available in collector. Huge improvement in solar panel efficiency, ensuring maximum capture of heat while eliminating cooling risk when collector temperature falls below tank temp. Includes options e.g.Anti frost protection to pulse pump at times of frost risk, or dual panel control. (can be programmed to your needs pre-purchase) LEDS to indicate power and pumping. Additional relay available to control over-heat risk. Includes 2 temperature-probe leads, with 5 metres and 2 metres of cable (for collector and tank) Additional probes available to manage East West Installations. Enables download of temperature logging into a PC with serial cable (at additional cost). See screen print below Requires 8-20V DC supply (available separately) see video of 12Volt Controller here click here to download instruction leaflet (freezecheck enabled version) |
Screen Print Examples of live data downloaded to a PC using the SP100 12Volt Temperature Differential Controller:
Live data can be uploaded straight in to MS Excel to create dynamically updated graphing or is easily copied and pasted into other programs for analysis if required. The format, frequency and actual data uploaded can be programmed to your requirement at no extra charge. In the first example, the chip has been programmed to record the max and min temperatures since the circuit was reset last. Data is sent to a free terminal program on the PC. In the second photo the Collector and Tank temperatures have been sent to Microsoft Excel over four days and the graphical display updates dynamically as the data is received. This can be useful when setting a system up where you are unable to monitor the data during the day or are concerned about frost risk at night. The output can be customised if specific formats or labels are preferred. |

Make your own Pump-Switching Temperature Control Circuit Kit £POA inc p&p We sometimes get asked if you can make your own controller. We reckon this circuit is probably the simplest possible control circuit that will work, so if cost, loneliness or enthusiasm drives you towards making your own Temperature Differential Controller, consider this option ;-). Pack of main components for the production of your own basic Temperature Differential Controller nb This is not the circuit used in the above controllers and is offered as a service to the electronic enthusiast. Whilst it certainly works, performance in my own tests has not been completely satisfactory. It is NOT recommended to people without some prior electronics assembly experience. The circuit used in the SP100 controller is entirely different and far more technically advanced. |
